Greetings followers!
I haven’t forgotten you…life just seemed to get in the way lately. As such, I’m going on a review hiatus (with the exception of my movie reviews that will appear on http://cinemanerdz.com ) because I have a project gurgling in my belly that is just screaming to get out.
To chronicle this project and my quest to write it, I’ll be setting up a new blog. Once it’s up and running, I’ll let everyone know. Thank you for being a friend. Oh, my first review back will be about ice cream (surprise surprise).
Onward.
I’ve teased a few of my faithful readers for weeks about this ice cream. Well, the wife and baby are taking naps, the dogs are trapped within the devilish grips of a sun spot, so I’m left here to remember that magical evening where I tried Private Selection Strawberry Peppercorn ice cream.

A bit of color before I post the review I wrote for movieretriever.com – I was very excited about Sucker Punch. It seemed like a cool premise, and after seeing what Snyder did with 300 and Watchmen, I was curious to see how Snyder would handle original ideas instead of the adaptations he was used to doing. For me, his best film pre Sucker Punch was Dawn of the Dead, with 300 being a close second. Watchmen had many cool moments, but I think Alan Moore’s classic should have never hit the silver screen.
So, what did I think of Sucker Punch? Click on the link below to find out!
Hopefully you don’t think it’s a cop out when I post links to the movie reviews I write for movieretriever.com
I don’t think it’s a cop out – I just want to make sure everyone gets a chance to read those reviews – especially my review for Paul. This is one of the best comedies I’ve seen since Role Models and I Love You, Man. So, without further delay – click on the link below to see my review of Paul. Oh, and for those of you who are waiting for my review of the Strawberry Peppercorn ice cream – it’s coming. I promise!
Sorry for the review delay folks – life got in the way.
Here’s a review for Gregg Araki’s Kaboom that I wrote for my friends at movieretriever.com.
It’s that time again where I let my fans know that another of my lovely movie reviews has been posted on movieretriver.com This time around, it’s for the Farrelly Brothers latest flick Hall Pass. If you’re interested in seeing what I thought of the movie, click the link below!

From time to time, I offer up my reviewing expertise to another website –movieretriever.com -you know, the site with the sunglasses-wearing dog.
From now on, I’m going to link any review (or feature) I write over there to this blog as well. Double the exposure, double the fun!
So, in today’s edition of what has Dane written over at movieretriever.com lately, I offer up my preview (and hopes) for Scream 4.

Also, just for fun, in the comment section below – let me know what your favorite scary movie is.
One of the coolest things I’ve done in my life is becoming a dad. My wife gave birth to our lovely baby girl Lily on February 4, 2010. Now, a few days removed from her first birthday, I’m able to step back and evaluate my first year as a proud poppa. Well, after thinking about it, I was an awesome dad last year!
The night before Lily was born, my wife woke up at around 1 – 2 in the morning because her water broke. Great wife that she is, she knew how extremely nervous I was about the next day (Lily was a planned C-Section because she was breech with no option for natural birth), so instead of letting me know, she went back to bed. Her thought was that the C-Section was scheduled and all they would do was make her go to the hospital early. So, instead of that, my wife sucked it up and toughed out the contractions. When she was finally admitted into the room, the nurse on call let Rachel (my wife) know she was having intense contractions that were three minutes apart. Rachel, of course, knew that, and I was shocked – and became a bigger stress ball. The one thing we were bummed about with the C-Section was that we wouldn’t get to experience the surprise of when she decided to make her grand entrance – well, she chose after all.
